Light Room Presets Mac vs PC

Will presets that I have on my PC work on a Mac ?? or are they operating system dependant ?? I have some Id like to give to a friend that is just starting with Lightroom

They should work for both Mac & PC - Presets are just macros of settings in Lightroom, they are not programs per se.
Once transferred they should work exactly the same.

I doubt they are the same. The reason I say this is because I've purchased some training videos from CreativeLIVE.com and some of the tutorials came with presets and some came with actions. Each came in folders for the Mac and the PC. If they were the same, I'd think that they wouldn't separate them into separate folders like they did.

I would be surprised if you find separate mac versions versus pc versions of presets, as presets are just settings in Lightroom, they have nothing to do with the underlying operating system.
You may run into presets that do not work in older versions of Lightroom simply because the setting does not exist in that version.
Every preset that I have seen so far is for Lightroom - never mattered what the OS.
