Has anyone ever tried this Pro Dot addition to the shutter release button or bought anything from Custom SLR?
Thanks.

I have seen the Pro Dot but did not purchase one. I have purchased an Air Strap camera strap and a C-Loop mounting device from Custom SLR - the strap was of very good quality and functioned well. Customer service and support are also good.

Thank you very much. I feel better about buying from a supplier is someone else has had good results. I may give this a try. I think it's only $7.95 or something like that.
I appreciate your help.

Bought it as a curiosity and have found it useful in more quickly locating the shutter release, especially when shooting vertically.

Thank you for your reply. I haven't been a member for all that long, but it seems like there is usually a willingness to help others when asked.

I'd read the one star reviews on Amazon if I were you

I'm a pretty heavy user and it works well for me. Just shows that each to his own I think...

I've used it and its OK. The dot fell off once or twice because of the way my bag is designed. Nice idea, but the glue isn't up to task.

Thanks to you and Toment for your comments. For $7.95 I decided to go ahead and try it. I'll post comments later after I use it.

I'm sure that if you introduce a constant source of agitation/contact, it will definitely come unglued. I don't keep my D800 in a bag, just lenses and accessories so no issues for me.

I have used it on My cameras for about a year. I recommend them highly as they help with feel and make it easier to have a light squeeze of the shutter release.
When I asked on UHH about them earlier, one poster said they came off in the heat. I'm in Phoenix and have gone thru a long, hot summer with no issues. I bought two packs thinking they might be somewhat a disposable item but have not opened the second pack yet. I did knock one off taking the camera out of a bag but I just stuck it back on and the adhesion is fine.
Follow the install instructions regarding preparation and allowing time for setup before use.

I have the Pro Dot on two Nikon pro bodies. Love it!

4-1/2 stars on B&H, available in red, black or clear.

Same here. No problems with them staying in place.

Well, thanks to most responses here and the OP for bringing it up, I just placed an order from B+H. There are those times when I think my finger is on the shutter button but, it's not and that can be a real pain when doing handheld macro with an extremely shallow DoF.

I didn't even know these things existed until now.

Thanks!
