Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
I was really surprised that it let me get about 6 inches from it, they usually fly away if I get within a few feet from them!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed looking at it!
This is the first one that I've seen near the house this year. Two years ago we had to trap and relocate three of them that were tearing up the shed. This one also has to go- after walking around I found out that it made it's home right under a corner of the house. I saw that this one even started gnawing on some electrical wires!

Ouch!! It is a real shame that you have to go thru the relocating action; but that is better to hear than having you say you might have to kill them somehow. Good luck . . .

The neighbors offered their help in killing it, but I really don't like killing any animal- no matter how destructive they might be. I also hope we can trap it before it actually chews through to the bare wires and gets itself electrocuted.

Just hope, too, that that wire that he might chew through and electrocute himself, just could burn down your house at the same time.

As you say above, I really don't like to kill any animal either; even rats and mice. And that feeling often hits me in such simple things as when I go around the yard and wipe out ant hills or even step on an ant or bug on a sidewalk.

And, yes, that feeling has deeply hit me when I swat a fly or mosquito. Life can be weird . . .

This is chuck. I've been fighting "him" all year. He has holes under four of the buildings on my farm. Aside from the holes, he is not destructive. His favorite dining place is the clover beside my garden. He's never touched the garden. I've trapped his offspring (actually, I think "he" is really a she). I've decided to let him spend the winter here and we'll resume our war in the Spring.

After a few weeks on vacation, Chuck is back. He likes my apples. No human likes them but the wildlife thinks they're pretty good.
