This pretty little golden red flier stayed around for at least an hour. I have not seen him/her again. You wouldn't believe this photo was black when I downloaded it. I was using manual setting and it seems that every time I try manual instead of auto, I get black, even with a flash going off. So I have looked at all the settings and read up on the camera's settings and just can't figure it out. At any rate I saved it by lightning it to the max. So I was lucky to get this shot and several more even though it is blurry.

Corolyn, this is an Eastern Amberwing dragon, and the only reason I know is because I found oodles of them on a trip to the swamps yesterday. :-D First ones I've ever had the privilege of seeing, and they're so tiny!

Thank you Frodo. But it is a sad rendition. He was so beautiful with sparkling wings in that gorgeous color. Maybe I'll get another chance.

Aren't they lovely. I am reminded of fairies! Thank you so much for the name. the color does resemble Amber.

I almost didn't have him! I was so frustrated when all of the shots that I tried on manual came out black. So I tried saving them by lightening them. So what you saw was extreme pp.
