I found an app called Map of Life. It works anywhere in the world. It aids in the identification of organisms. I opened the app chose my county and filtered for butterflies. Up popped the butterflies of my area. The best part of this app is that it is crowd sourced. As more people use it and add species it will become better. Since it was only introduced early this year I was expecting a lot less than what it was. Anyone who wants to read about it check out the AAAS periodical "Science" for 7 August. I am still using my trusty books to confirm the siting when I get home. I carry my phone with me all the time and even though it is the size of a graham cracker it is still smaller than any book. I also have ibird pro on my phone and can't wait for all the other guides to show up.
Can not find it could their be a different name?
I found it on google play. It is for both Android and IOS systems

Thanks! Downloaded...now I can't wait to try it out. (I also peaked on Google Play (for Android) and found a Bird Id'er from Cornell Labs...going to download that later today. It's a large APP so WI-FI is a must.

Found the iOS version just now. I could have used this to determine what kind of spider we had in our flower area right by our steps. It had a great web going.
