I have two photo's I want to merge and have done so but with a very inferiour programe that came with a friends no name branded camera.
Photo shop for me may as well be in aztec shorthand , i'm not asking for a how too, cause i think any instructions would just miss me altogether but i would like very much to see what is possiable and i'm sure some of you would like to play around with these also.

I have included my two attempts(ideas)of what i was looking to do and downloadable origanals at 40% the size.

Photos didn't send will put them on now

1st try

ok heres a 5 min attempt using pixelmator on a mac $29 program for mac almost as good as photoshop if you'd like something else done like edges blurred or clouds removed let me know all I did was inject the flag into the shot dropped the opacity a bit and erased what was covering the statue

Here's another quick look in Photoshop. Just cut out the statue and merged the layers. From there, there are lots of possibilities.

I have "Teach Yourself Visually Photoshop Elemnents 10". The book is written by Mike Wooldridge and Barbara Stuart. It's a step by step direction, #1 Click here, #2 Click on this, #3 Click on this to do this, Etc, Etc, Etc. It shows you the exact moves to get exactly what you want to do. Got it from Amazon, was less than $25.00 total. I wish I had bought it before Dummies and Photo Elements, would have saved about $50-$60. Hope it helps, if need more information, you can PM me. Thanks

I have a couple of thoughts on a composite image that I would like to know if you are interested before I attempted them. To me, I think the flag should be higher than the soldier and with some way to give it depth. It is too bad the statue was taken without the pedestal as that would add to the picture. In any event, I would raise the flag higher than the soldier and probably broaden the picture out. If you are interested, let me know and I will be glad to try it. Also if you have pictures with more of the pedestal or flag pole please post them as I would plan to incorporate them in.

To give you an idea of what can be done, I posted a composite image on the daily challenge--it will be towards the end and is a composite of 11 images for a local wine bar.

This is what I did. Pretty much like CFS.

You do have many options, just got to find out what you like the best. You can be very artsey if you want.
