Selling my very sharp Nikon 28-70 f2.8 D
This lens was the predecessor to the 24-70 f2.8 and is just as sharp. This comes with the round hard case and the original box. You don't find many that way anymore. Have used this on my D3 with great results. The lens is in pristine shape. Price reduced to $810 shipped to lower 48. This is rock bottom on this lens and it is built like a tank!

New???? Nikon does not offer this lens new anymore. On Amazon, they are only either used or refurbs. Personally, you don't know what you get from these sellers, as they are mostly not photographers. Second, most don't come with the hard case, box or caps. Adorama and B&H does not have this lens in stock, even used. It is just as sharp as the 24-70 f2.8 and worth every penny of the asking price.

Just checked on KEH and they have this lens used in ex condition for between $959 and $999, so this lens is certainly priced right!

Great lens. I use this lens on wedding shoots and whenever light is a problem. Results are the same as with the 24-70, but it might be a little better in low light because of the size of the front element. Can't prove it though. Also produces great color. Your price is about what I paid for mine, at least I would not accept any less than what you are asking for yours. One other thing about the lens compared to the 24-70. The 28-70 doesn't show distortion at its bottom side, the 24-70 does.

Yes, this is a top notch lens and I am surprised someone has not grab it at this price. It is priced under KEH by over a $100 dollars.

I know what you mean. There are no new issues of the 28-70 f2.8, and those that have good copies, don't give them up very often. If by chance you don't sell it with this listing, you won't have lost anything. Having good glass is somewhat of an investment.

I just now see that when I typed my first response that I meant to say "like" new. Thank you for pointing out my error. Your asking price is a good one given it's excellent condition.

Could be that people are waiting to buy a VR in the same class lens. That will effect all the used prices unfortunately. I have the 24-70 and use it constantly.

That is a possibility, but why? A VR on a 24-70? Unless you have some type of shaking disorder, you just don't need VR on that length of a lens, in my opinion. This lens is holding it's own with pricing around the $750 to $900 range. I have everything for this lens and it is in pristine condition. If I don't sell it, no problem.
