My father was an officer on the USS Antietam in 1945-46. In going through some of his photos, I ran across this picture, but I don't know where it was taken. Can anyone help identify where this picture was taken? Obviously, the bay is large enough for an aircraft carrier and other war ships. My guess is either Manila or somewhere in China, but I am open to any help I can get. Thanks.

Have you any idea of the date the picture was taken?

The best guess is sometime in 1946.

I don't know. Would there be one specifically for the Antietam or are you talking about a more general history of naval warships. Do you know where might I look for this type of information?

Just guessing I would say a view of Hong Kong looking down from Victoria Peak toward Repulse Bay, or Victoria Harbor.

Dan821,

You're the best. I googled Victoria Peak and found some images from the the early 1960s. There are several landmarks in the more recent pictures that match perfectly with the one from 1946. Many thanks for your assistance.
