I see nothing wrong with your post. This section is about people photography. I enjoyed and learned something from the link. Thank you.

It is to post pictures of people that you feel are interesting and you want to share. It could be from any source as long as it is not a copyright or privacy issue. I don't think pictures that were on the internet would have this issue.

That's interesting. I don't really think there needs to be rules. I just think topics with links in the first topic should be moved to the links section.
That's what the Admin does. You post a link in the first topic the photo gallery and it gets moved. Same happens for pretty much every section. I post links sometimes to make a point as it relates to a photo but not as a topic but usually for comparison.
I hope this doesn't degrade to the conversations that have developed in the photo critique section. If someone does start posting links to other photos here you can bet I won't particpate. I am a member of 500px.com and can find my on images I like there. This section has run without problems for a very long time...a place where photographers can just share or ask for people C&C.
I hope that the spirit and cooperation remains.

I have to say that I agree with Russ 100%. This forum has been a great place to post photos to get feedback and to learn. Russ and some of the other Pros have been just fabulous in sharing, teaching and critiquing our photos.

I would prefer to see link topics moved to the links section and leave this forum as more of an educational one.

If you read the rules for the Photo Gallery, it starts out with saying "photos that YOU took" (emphasis is mine) and since all of the photo sections are essentially sub-sections derived from that, ALL photos displayed should be the OP's shots.

But he didn't post in Photo Gallery and the introduction in People Photography doesn't say anything about the photos having to be taken by the person posting.
