for my a-550 ,last week i bought a minolta maxxum 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 autofocus ,the pictures are great and it works like a charm. for those of us who shoot for fun and can live with manual focus and setting, let's open another door. the old canon fd lenses. today i received a fd to sony alpha adapter.i have 4 lenses from my canon a1 days.after a few sight in shots i got some good prints.3 of the 4 lenses attached with no problem. the camera must be set to manual mode.the adapter is from fotodiox and cost $40.00. if i had owned the hi-end fd lenses of that day it would be nice to know i could still use them.

Thank you for the heads up. I do not have the FD lenses, YET, but no telling what the alter in front of the dumpster will provide. There was a mildew covered camera bag containing a 7000 with a typical can tele lens attached. Lens was only moldy on outside, works great. Bag washed up in bleach water. So now you open another avenue... Thank you and long live Sony Alpha Cameras.

I have been buying minolta maxxum af lenses, one is a 100mm f2.8 macro and was shooting water drops with my son who is a nikon shooter. We both got some decent shots but am looking at different lighting and fluids to get the better shots.

I have been thinking of buying the FD to Sony adapter. I still have my AE-1 Program 35mm camera and have 3 lenses that are faster than my Sony kit lenses (a 28mm macro f2.8, a 50mm f1.8 and a 75-200mm macro f4.5). I'd like to be able to at least use my primes on my Sony body. Can you post any pics?

looks like a sunny day comming up, will see what i can do.
i started with the ae-1 in 1970, and bought the a-1 body 5 yrs ago.the only problem was hooking the 70-200mm focal lens, but when i got it to work the macro setting worked well.i didn't mind useing 4-6 shots to sight it in.
