On this August night I was sure I was going to be trapped in a great storm. The thunder rolled, and the winds were near gale force. By one a.m. the thunder ceased, but the winds howled. When I peaked out of my tent the sky was filled with stars and the light of the full moon coming from the east made it seem to be almost day light. I grabbed my camera and tripod and headed for the lake and a view of castle rock. The winds were so fierce I tied my tripod to a tree to help steady it.
This shot is not as sharp as I would like due to the wind. I did manage two frames at 800 ISO, f/2.8 and a shutter speed of 25-seconds. The light on Castle Rock is from the full moon.
Hope you like the shot--getting it was both an adventure and a personal thrill. The vision was beyond amazing, this hardly does it justice. Thanks for looking. Please try the download.
Should I try to remove more noise from the waters of the lake??
The photo is NOT crooked. The curve of the lake just makes it seem that way. Not that the shoreline trees are straight.
Critique and comments are most welcome.
On my monitor, this image appears a bit too dark. Can you re-post a lighter version?

Not until I get home this evening as the original is on my computer at home. It looks ok on my monitor here at work. It is a night shot so it is a it dark.
I'll try again tonight.

This image doesn't look too dark. It looks great. Making it brighter would detract from it. I like it the way it is.
Good picture!

Will you permit me to post a slightly "less dark" copy of your original?

Thank you very much for commenting.
I personally agree with the darkness of the photo--that is why I made it as it is.
I do appreciate your comment.

Feel free to make any adjustments you would like. Always interested to see how others perceive the scene.

Just a slight adjustment in post processing exposure. Still looks like night.
Just a bit brighter to reveal detail in the trees and reflections on the water

You created an interesting approach. Not my personal choice, but still I do like it. For me it is too bright, brighter than I saw the seen. But if I had not seen it live, I might like it even better.
Thanks for your efforts.
Nice Job Treadwl and welcome to the Astronomical Photography Forum.
