How do you stop the Government...
How do you stop the government from enforcing IT'S "law" when the people don't want it.
I previously posted a thread about our little town and the Nativity scene after which it was named. I imagine we will end up in court, as the group Freedom from Religion will probably force it there. If they win, and we are ordered to take it down, who will enforce that ruling if the town refuses. Will the group send bulldozers from Wisconsin to destroy it? Or will the Army come in with the Corps of Engineers? Who will do the actual work if no one locally will do it?
Can you say, "Civil Disobedience?

I would guess the ATF would be front and center, possibly backed by the FBI.
But that's just a guess...
It's really quite simple. If you are ordered by the judge to remove the display and you refuse, you are then in contempt of the court.
That will carry with it a criminal and civil penalty.
If you truly believe you are right then be prepared for some jail time.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on whether the contempt is direct or indirect.
Direct contempt isn't a criminal matter.
Indirect contempt is, and therefore has constitutional protections attached.
So, it's not quite as simple as it may seem.
But when the city government is the one to refuse, who goes to jail?
