Crop sensor lenses?

Wait - I have a crop sensor camera - can I buy a lens like the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 which is designed for a full frame sensor? What about other lenses - do I have a more limited selection now that I have a crop sensor?

Thanks for comments!

Full frame lenses work just fine on crop sensor bodies. You just get more effective magnification out of them depending on the body you use.

Dan...one more advantage of full frame lenses...should you ever buy a full frame camera you won't have to buy all new lenses. Sorry Goofy.

I know, just like all of them. They do get entertaining sometimes...and I can spell apology correctly. Sometimes my fingers don't want to cooperate. I'm left-handed and I blame this right-handed keyboard!!!

I would disagree.....the field of view is narrower on a DX but the magnification is exactly the same.

Yes, you are correct, but MT stated: more "effective" magnification.
