I recently purchased a D7100 (Referb). So Friday I ordered, and today received, a 50mm 1.8G lens. I am looking for a image so sharp that if you stumbled on the rocks, of the picture, you'd come up with blood on your knees. I have been in photography since 1968 (Mamiya-Sekor 500DTL) and pictures in focus (Sharp) has always been priority one.
I am really appreciating Digital Photography and hope you are too. Don't take your photography efforts too seriously but don't loose the human creativity of the media. Keep striving for the next level but enjoy what you have......

Thanks to Ugly Hedgehog for giving us this Forum

Good Shooting

P.S. I will post photos I think worthy.

Getting the shots with that 7100 is going to take everything you ever learned about 'correct' focus and then some.
But it will deliver the goods.

Don't get me wrong I've had numerous digital cameras since the early 90s, both Sony and Nikon. This is just my latest setup. Presently I have a variety of Nikon lenses. 14-24mm 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 105 macro 2.8, Tamron 18-270 and now a 50mm prime.

Good shooting

I hope you got these with that lens. I have found them to be invaluable!

I own that camera along with a D800 and that 50mm 1.8 is a sharp lens and will work great! I recommend a Nikon 80-400 AF lens, you won't believe how sharp that lens is and the bokeh is to die for..
Happy shooting!

You have the FX lenses, why not go FF. D750 is terrific camera.

Very nice photos. Did you PP. And did you start with a RAW image?

The thought has crossed my mind. A little concerned about size and weight.

Not sure the D750 outweighs a D7100. I know the D750 is a great improvement over the D800 (i.e. about half the weight, I think).

But if light weight is the main criteria the D5300 takes the same images as a D7100 with about half the weight and it has other cool features (wireless, gps, articulated screen). Of course if your lenses need the camera focusing shaft then the D7100 is the right choice.
