These are some photos I took yesterday in the late afternoon on the Gorge in Victoria. It was sunny and not a breath of wind.

did you try framing the bird so that the oof tree was not directly behind it? if not why not?

I couldn't frame it much differently because there were too many other branches in the way. But yes it would have stood out much better.
Nice shots....really nice.
Question: Why is there a halo around the swan?
Question: Did you get rid of some purple or green fringing in the bird (oreole) picture? Around the tree branch it looks like the branch was moving or you desaturated some chromatic aberration.
Nice shots....just wondering.

When I enhanced the photo slightly I should have corrected the halo but didn't notice it until after I posted it(or maybe it is a saint, Lol.)
I never changed the bird photo as far as fringing or chromatic aberration.
Thanks

Are you sure that's not an oaf tree rather than an oof tree, because around here those damn oaf trees are always sneaking up behind the birds. 8-)
Beautiful shots of a nice spring afternoon. It's nice to have these old eyes so I don't see all things that are not there. Keep on posting---will be looking for more.......

Couldn't help but laugh about the OOf tree. Kinda like there was a mountain behind the bird why didn't you move it:) The tree is OOf due to DOF but I suspect your target was the bird not the OAF tree. Weird sense of humour (Canadian spelling) I have.
