The lens has been lightly used and carefully stored. I don't shoot many far-away things, so decided the 18-105 suits me better. Lens looks almost new; comes with petal hood, rear cap, UV filter instead of front cap, original box, and a yellow band that helps control zoom creep. (In case you don't know, this lens tends to creep when pointed downward.) $530 includes CONUS shipping. 14-day money back if not as described.
what if the f stop number of this lens?
Is it sharp and clear at all focal lengths?
It ranges from 3.5 at the wide end to 5.6. Sharp and clear are relative terms. It would be no match for a lens that costs thousands, but it does not cost thousands. It is at least as good as the 18-55 you will receive Monday, but its reach is nearly four times as long. I think it is very good value, and there is great advantage in not having to swap lenses in the middle of a shoot.

I looked it up on B&H some comments said it was a heavy lens--how do you feel about that? I am seriously interested
their site answered my f stop question
Again, a relative term. A long lens has to weigh more than short. I found it much easier to carry than the multiple lenses it would take to cover the same range.

have this lens and love it.
Is the 18-200 still available for purchase?
I have this lens and really like it except for the lens crept. Where did you buy the yellow band.
except for the lens creep!
On eBay, search lens creep band.
