I've read a number of comments lately of folks are leery of purchasing the P900 because it lacks RAW capability. I wished it had RAW too, but went ahead and purchased it on its merits. I've been using it almost exclusively for the last 2 months, and it's never held me back.
These photos were all taken yesterday, in and about my home in Burlington, NC. I had to chuckle ....... I wrote to greymule, telling him that my second photo reminded me of all the beautiful scenery he sends us from out West. I was quick to acknowledge that our little cliff face pales in comparison with his mountains, but bore a certain similarity in color and texture.
Very nice images!!
Personally, I think the lack of a HotShoe is more of an issue than the lack of RAW capability.

Thanks Wahawk. I mainly shoot outdoors, so the hot shoe issue hasn't affected me ..... yet! And while I haven't used it yet, the pop-up flash actually extends a good distance above the lens (more than any other p&s I've ever used). I purchased the P900 to be my long-shooter, and found that I did better using Manual Focus with the manual focus control assigned to the left Zoom Control - I zoom with my right, focus with my left.
Bob, as Enrico Ferrari said, it's not the car that wins it's the driver, great shots. Now if I only could convince my wife I need another camera.

I can't see from you images that you're missing anything with the lack of RAW capability, these are great. The last one really gets my attention in this set Bob as it reminds me of my darkroom days. I used to print on some sort of negative acetate film. I wish I could remember what it was as it produced cool effects. :-D

Thanks Jim. That last one is what I call "Shadowlight" - more or less a digital negative of a b&w image. And you're right ...... nothing has come up yet that ye olde basic .jpg couldn't handle
Very good set Bob, I like your homage to Greymule best.

Thanks Earnie. I agree with you ..... it was my favorite as well. It was just a small microcosm of all those great places that greymule has taken us over the past few months.
