Ugly Hedgehog ?

Who came up w/that name ? Just a curious newbie to this forum. Like many of you,I've taken pics for many (over 50) years as a hobby. I'm here to learn more of what's new & how to use the digital format to my advantage. I've been using an old nikon coolpix e995 but I'm planning to attend the F1 race near Austin Tx. next year & need something newer that will capture (stop) the motion. I hope to use my zoom lens from my minolta 35mm which will fit the sony body. I'm trying to choose between the SLT a55vl,the Slt a33 or the newer dslr a580l. If any of you have one of the above,I'd appreciate your advice & comments. Thanks for your replies.

I also agree with you what is up with that name? and what is wrong with hedgehogs that you have to call them ugly? Im reporting this site to the hedgehog anti defamation league. You'll be sorry!!!! oh and welcome to this site I'm a nikonian so I cant answer your questions about sony. If you go to popphoto.com they have a buyers guide where you can check out the reviews for those cameras.

I used to use a Nikon and liked it but now i am into canon and very satisfied with it. I had a Nikon FTN which some of my photojournalists used most of the time. If digital had come along sooner I would have had a closet full of photograps. Especially for costs of film and processing costs which are not now a factor about costs

I use sony. I have the 500 that bought last year. Sony has since released some amazing stuff and lastest greatest is the 580. You cant go wrong with any of those choices, I might suggest to look harder at the 580. Take care.

I think she might want to become a vetertnarian some day. 8-) I prefer the less exotic pets, but if I could only have a falcon :mrgreen:
