Nikonian, I'm the administrator for the wedding photography section. If you have any questions, or I can help, let me know. Make sure you keep an eye on posts in the main forum, and every time you or any others that are subscribed, see a question about printing, make sure you invite them to subscribe.

They won't include you (or us) in the daily digest until you have at least a couple hundred subscribers. We are currently at 175.

The last thing that I would suggest is that you keep your core group on top of things, and squash, or remove posts from trolls. I know our section would love to be in the daily digest, but on the other hand, that's when the trolls come out.

Any specific questions, just PM me. I'm busy most weekends, but always answer my PM's.
Good luck on the new section.
bk

This ain't my first rodeo. I also moderate True Macro-Photography Forum (2522 subscribed users), Frequently Asked Questions and Answers (1729 subscribed users), Astronomical Photography Forum (673 subscribed users), Birds-In-Flight / Birds-On-Water Forum (1039 subscribed users), and Published Photographs by Ugly HedgeHoggers (386 subscribed users).

I seriously doubt that any "managed" section will be included on the home page, without specific subscription by an UHH member. Is this the "daily digest" to which you refer?

It is. Admin is the one that told me that after we had a few hundred subscribers, we could be included in the digest. I'm not sure why else anyone would subscribe to any section. The only reason I subscribe to any is so that I can get notifications in the daily digest. Maybe I'm just subscribed to the "right" sections???

When I open UHH, I see the sections to which I subscribe, no matter how few or how many "Users" also subscribe. To what "notification" are you referring?

That's the one. I don't see the more "obscure" ones (like Wedding Photography or Underwater Photography), whether there are posts or not. I have to go to the home page, scroll down, and look to see if there are any new posts in the sections I am interested in. Only a few show up on that first page.

Glad to see this new forum! Printing is definitely one of my weakest areas. I look forward to reading the questions and responses; I expect I will be seeking much advice in the future.

Looks like the place I need to be. I've used a lot of printers to print the photographs my wife takes (by the ton) and I had to get a ciss system to be able to afford the 8 1/2 x 11 and 13x19 prints we do.
Problem is, we are a long way from being very knowledgeable about what we are doing, probably 3 on a scale from 1 to 10.

I'm looking forward to getting some good tips here!

One question I have is about the Colormunki device. Is that really as easy to use as some say? Color profiles and how to use them is hard for me to grasp so I need a gadget to make it simple. Thanks for any information and tips in advance. Regards, Geezer1111 !

Looks like this part about printing is just getting started? OK, even though as I said I'm not that knowledgeable perhaps I can add a little on the "CIS" ( continuous ink supply) part.
I started looking into that some years back when I realized I needed to be a lot richer than I am to be able to afford to print full color pages on my inkjet printer.
I had an Epson 1400 at the time and did the research and came up with several promising sources for ink and the CIS rigs. I won't list any, it might be regarded as advertising but I did see at least 3 places that looked good and finally settled on one. I liked the results and can truthfully say the prints I got were as good as the OEM inks and I have a few around that look just fine after 5 years. Saved a ton of money given the volume of prints I did, we even created books of prints for family members and friends. Could not have afforded to do any amount close to what I have done if I didn't find the CIS system. I would encourage anyone that wants to do a lot of full color prints to get educated in the use of CIS systems. I notice that Epson even has now come up with their own CIS equipped printers although they still charge a lot( in my view) for the inks. Still, It's cheaper than the old way. I hope this information is helpful to this venue!
