I had posted earlier as to drainage in the battery while the camera is off. Lots of people had commented and I appreciate every one of them. Here is an update.
I had vivitar branded batteries in them. I bought vivitar thinking they atleast have a recognized name on them as compared to several unnamed batteries. They turned out to be the real problem with fast drainage even when camera was not in use. I recently purchased some other unnamed brand from ebay. They are excellent. I have sparingly used the camera over the last 10 days and it still shows 100%. They are 1600 mah power. I will post the ebay url and they are only $19 for two. Great deal. I am buying two more and have already thrown the vivitar's.

I checked with Amazon and they are 2 for 15. i would rather buy from amazon then from ebay.
