A 17 year old girl from Moldova, living in Florida...
What do you think, EW...the next Annie Leibowitz?

Fantastic photos. I could only dream of skills like that.
Thanks for the link.
she has a real talent for using backlighting, and apparently lots of friends to pose for her
Thanks for the link, English Wolf.
That was a lesson and a half. Thanks
As I look at photographs from around the world, I find that the central Europeans just see differently. Perhaps, the repressive regimes under which they lived forced them to see the world through a different lens. Or maybe they spent their time viewing too many Fellini films.

You are entirely right as one's experience plays a lot onto our world vision. Moldova is poor and has been victim not only of the USSR but more recently was threatened by a complete political breakdown. The country was also victimized by an armed revolution that has left what ever was left from the communist era into tatters.
This young woman has an escapist point of view with flashes of disturbing introspection (like the anonymous hands around the armchair)
I have posted another link a few months ago from a friend, also torn by revolution and senseless violence. Him being older has a view that is dark, brooding and raised his awareness of human beings. In person he is a nice enough fellow but never really smiling, hiding behind his camera.
So, Yes you are right. Different circumstances, different takes on life, in all facets of living.

Great link, Wolf. Thank you for guiding us to it.
I was amazed of her insight into the human condition. Not knowing the order in which the pictures where taken, the bag hanging from a tree and then the person standing with a similar sheet at the end, makes you think of how we learn. From darkness into light.
Amazing skills for such a young person. Most of us adults can only dream of achieving such gripping results.
