Could you give us some feedback as to why you prefer windows 8 over windows 10?

Settings>Recovery>Go back to a previous version of Windows

Within 30 days of the Win10 install.

What really bothered you about Win10? Software compatibility?

Go to control panel.

If you’ve upgraded a PC to Windows 10 — not performed a clean install, but an upgrade — you’ll have an easy option that lets you revert to the last version of Windows. To access this, open the Start menu and select Settings. Click the “Update & security” icon and select “Recovery.”

You should see a “Go back to Windows 7″ or “Go back to Windows 8.1″ option. Click the Get started button to get rid of your Windows 10 install and restore your previous Windows install. Microsoft will ask you why you want to go back.

If it’s been over a month — or if you’ve run the DIsk cleanup tool and removed the “Previous Windows installations” files or deleted the C:\Windows.old folder by hand — you’ll no longer see this option. Windows 10 appears to automatically remove the old Windows installation files after a month to free up space.

Go to control panel. br br If you’ve upgraded a ... (show quote)

There seems to be a lot of people who assume WIN10 will solve their system problems and registry screw ups. This is not the case and any virus or infection your system had under the previous OS will only be migrated into WIN10 during the upgrade process unless the system has been cleaned by a good antivirus program before the WIN10 installation.

Also, updates will continue to improve the WIN10 OS as they get downloaded and installed. This includes your video card drivers and print drivers and patches for many older programs designed for 32 bit XP machines.

Give the installation a few days or a week to settle all of these issues before deciding to revert back to your previous OS.

Most PC installations of WIN10 upgrade go without any problems and the new OS can be easily converted or changed to almost any look you prefer.

The 2 books that will give good instructions for WIN10 are being released September 20th on Amazon. They are:

Inside OUT WINDOWS 10
and
Windows10, the missing manual

I went from 7 to 10 on my laptop and I like it a lot. The biggest plus for me is startup. What used to take 10 minutes for me to be ready for the internet is now 1.5 minutes.

It will be there eventually, but it may take a few months.
