I took this shot at Virginia beach pier on the weekend of my anniversary. My wife and I decided to go to Virginia beach for our 20th.That was last year. I decided to go out even before the sunrise and do some long exposure. This was one of the better ones.

Nicely done. Good detail under the pier. I love the starburst effect. Good colors. I really like this photo.

Was just looking at a similar photograph of this same pier taken from a different perspective. The pier is a great subject to use for this shot. The other shot was taken from the opposite side of the pier. That factor eliminated the fence shadow that is in your shot. The other shot also had a far more dramatic sky that went much higher. This caused the photographer to raise the point of view and eliminated all of the beach completely. All of a sudden that shot was not so similar. Same pier, different setting, entirely different. Nice job with your composure, the fence balances things, almost leads the viewer down to the water.

This pier must attract photographers by the boat-load. I have seen it several times before. Your colors are terrific, just plain gorgeous! Sun rise is often over-looked in favor of the later event of sun set. Will you be able to print this shot in accurate depiction of the colors? I once heard a critique of this scene as being problematic because of the "tire tracks" on the right hand side (actually the shadow of the railing on the pier). The things some people see? Makes you kind of wonder how two people can see things so differently. Beautiful image, you should be very proud of your effort.
