Can't help with the first part, but maybe I can with the lens. I bought a D750 last week, with two new FX lenses. Forget the Nikon 24-120mm--the Sigma 24-105mm Art Series absolutely leaves the Nikon for dead. The other lens that I bought is a Tamron 15-30mm f2.8. Both of these lenses are big, heavy, well made, & tack sharp. Of course, these lenses are wide/ultra wide--Great for landscapes but not much good for birding, though, lol. Earl.

What type of photography are you interested in, people, landscape, sports, wildlife, macro......?

This information is essential to answering your second question. As for your first question stick with known sources such as B&H. There are no deals on Nikon cameras as the selling price is fixed by the manufacturer. ;)

Hmmmm... Eshop--$2000. B&H--$2696. Might be a scam. Read.

You will get a "grey market" camera and lens, meaning NO WARRANTY! Not even a one year standard International Warranty because they openly purchase these cameras in India and Romania, remove the warranty info, and ship them to the USA and other countries (Oz) for retail sale. Nikon will NOT warranty the camera or lens without the actual warranty card PLUS a copy of a receipt from an authorized Nikon dealer. Avoid them to save yourself a lot of grief.

Buy a lens for a specific purpose, don't buy a lens just to buy a lens.
What is it you intend to shoot? Macro/close-up? Shorebirds and wildlife? indoor/low light?
Decide what direction(s) you want to go and let that determine what lens(es) to buy.

All the real, warrantied Nikon sell for the same price, so skip over those places that offer bargains.

Thanks for your input. I wanted a general lens when I wanted more range. I'm not into anything specific eg Macro and will be using this camera for general photography😀

Interesting article, Rick and June. I never even knew there was a country called Moldava. Sounds like the name from a Marx Brothers' movie.

I only buy from Adorama, B&H or Cameta (ABC)

Also Roberts Camera and Amazon, as long as its direct from Amazon and not a 3rd or 4th party.

All of the above mark the item whether its gray market or US warranty. You have to check the Amazon link carefully though to determine if its direct or 3rd/4th party.
