My Grand daughter and i took a ride to Silma this morn to take pixs of the old house that is on the way out. Someone tore the back porch from it within the last month. What a shame to see it as it stands.
While going down the road we caught some pixs of the Longhorns .
There were also a pair of Calves hooping it up around Mom.
Enjoyed your pictures. It is so sad to see an old house going to rack and ruin. We have a few houses in our town that are going through demolition by neglect.
Great looking set Mare. What a shame about the house. Bet it was nice in its day.
Love the long horns. I think they are so neat. I love seeing them.

Glad to hear you enjoyed them, and it certainly is sad to see whats become of them. I bet they could really tell a story or two.

that would be wonderful to have you ride along/we'd take Janny with.
I think there are many houses like this one- one just has to locate them off the beaten path. Theres is not much activity on this side road- probably a total of 10 houses for the 7 miles.
wouldn't it be fun to restore this had they semi kept it up.

I did an old farm house here in Medina many yeas ago. It was a reck. Took me 2 years part time. I did outside and inside. But the folks that lived there loved it when I got done. They moved to fl. after 10 years living there. And the folks that bought it had it worn down and a fancy new house made!!! Broke my heart!!! I have a few shots of it some where. But my computer is still in the shop.:(

that would be heart breaking- others do not share the love of old buildings unfortunately. We bought an old house and it took us from 1990 until 1996 to make it livable. We gutted everything but the shell and started over . it never had running water or a any source of heat, we put in a septic- a new well- a furnace and then rebuilt it so it looked original from the git go. Before i put it up for sale to move here i had a few more things to complete and it went full circle then.
There is Beauty in old things.
if you find your old pixs of the house- i would so love to see them, Erv.
Great set!! Lucky you were able to get the set from start to finish
