Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must protect themselves because police do not protect you from crime; they carry a gun to protect themselves; they just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

I also see you are living in Florida. Right now, they are fast tracking veterans through the concealed carry process. Thank you Adam Putman, our AG secretary!
Right now, it takes approximately 3 months to process applications without the fast track!

The best answer to a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.
I would rather it be me making a report to the police then a policeman making a report about why I, or my loved ones, are dead or in the hospital.

The bad guy doesn't have to have a gun if the good guy is unarmed. A knife, club etc, or even just being younger, stronger and ruthless is enough if the good guys aren't armed.

But, only the law abiding obey the laws. The others will get a gun some way. So, it is illegal for him to have a gun. He(OK she) plans to commit robbery, murder etc. They are going to worry about the gun being illegal!?!?!?!?

Oh, 3 years regular army, 2 years in Vietnam (wore the expert marksman badge), about 3 years working armed security (mostly alarm response where I got there first or with the police because I/my employer had the keys and alarm codes) fully trained and licensed. Qualified near the top of the sk**ls scale used for security officers in CA. (in the 580s of 600 possible with revolver and 570s with 45 auto)

But in most parts of CA I can't get a CCW, because I don't have a good enough reason (or know the right people, amazing how many friends and doners to the sheriff's politcal fund qualify).
