Folks, I ran across these 3 kittens all alone in the woods during my camping trip. Apparently someone had dumped them off. They were so excited and happy to see me. I spent several minutes petting and playing with them. They seemed in good health despite being a bit skinny. I decided to entice them to follow me back to camp where perhaps someone would want them. After several stops along the way to keep them close by (and get these shots), we finally made it back. Several people came up asking about them, and before long...the the whole camp knew of them. Fortunately, a family with several little girls came by. They asked about them and of course the little girls kept asking "Can we have them?" The parents we're a bit reluctant at first, but then gave in. I was so glad to see these cats get a new home and family to go to. That just made my day!
Those are the three that you saw! Unfortunately, there are probably several more out there in the woods. People drop them off and they begin to multiply. Some of them remain friendly but most will be feral. I feed about 25 cats/kittens down in our local park. Unfortunately, two that I know of have small litters and two more female are just about to give birth. So, in just a couple of months there will be about 15 more cats - I call them "throw away babies". I wish that people would neuter their animals then we would not have this problem.
   Thanks for the pictures and the story with a happy ending for those three. We just found a home for a beautiful female black lab some one put out a month ago. The two little boys that got her were thrill that their grandmother (who was raising them) got the dog for them.
Good job getting them a home.
A pox on who ever left them there.

We will have to call you the 'kitty whisperer' James. So pleased they followed you and hopefully now they are safe and sound. Your title sounds like a children's storybook! Excellent shots too. :D

First- terrific pictures. Second- You have done a wonderful thing, you have saved abandoned kittens and have given a family a gift that they will treasure for many years. We need more people like you.

Thank you so much for looking after those adorable kittens and finding them homes. You are a very special person!!!
I have just adopted a kitty from my vet that is the exact twin of the all white one. Some one walked into the clinic, plopped it on the counter and said the cat was left with him and he didn't want it then he walked out the door. I came in the next day to pick up one of mine and the vet asked if I knew anyone that wanted a cat. I took him home that afternoon after they neutered him. He is the sweetest little boy!! I've named him Winter.
