New MacBook Pro Computer

Best Buy had a one day sale on Mac Pro Computers (the details of getting them to follow through is another story for another time- let me just say that interacting with the Internet arm of Best Buy was not ok) My 17" Mac Pro was getting slower and slower and then the track pad starting working only intermittently. So I bit the bullet and purchased a new Mac Pro with 16 G Ram and SS hard drive. It was super simple getting things set up on it (even for someone that is somewhat computer challenged). I made the choice to reload software manually. Everything loaded quickly and without any problems including PS and LR CC. I will say that there is a bigger difference than I anticipated between the 17 and 15 inch screen but outside of that all is great!

Congrats on the new computer. Wise choice to reload software manually. I too (6 years ago) went from a 17 to a 15...but since I do a lot a traveling, I was happy to do so (smaller bag, wayyyy lighter overall.

Thanks- yes there is a significant weight reduction in computers that is welcome.

I go from a 27" monitor to a 13" MacBook Pro all the time. You get used to it, and the weight reduction makes it all worthwhile.

Does Apple allow BB to discount computers on their own? Like CanNikon they seem to control prices pretty carefully.

Every now and then BB will discount by about 10%. They must have some latitude to do that. I caught my iPad on a similar sale.

Glad you have a new system. Just curious, is it running W-10?

MacBooks run OS-X, not Windows. At least not natively! It's like Canon v. Nikon. Apple v. Microsoft!
