The boss and I are spending the first two weeks of September in PEI Canada with our 27' trailer. Anybody have suggestions for a camp ground to stay in? I think I would prefer the north side of the island for star trail shots between the rain drops. The trip is based on capturing the over 50 lighthouses around the island with priority to sunrise/sunset times. I already have the major and minor shot list so just need help with campground. Thanks.
The island is small enough that any of the private or provincial campgrounds will do fine for you but Cabot Beach Prov. Park on the large bay (Malpeque Bay)on the northside is great and has a number of lighthouses nearby.
Just a warning: Don't expect to see normal style lighthouses that you see everywhere else. These are short, wooden things, not the tall, towering stone type. They can be picturesque but not the same at all.
Enjoy your trip and be sure to take in a church breakfast at least once. They're fantastic.

Thanks, the boss will certainly enjoy the church breakfast along with getting me to church...
Don't worry, You don't actually have to attend a service, they hold the breakfasts throughout the week. Good food, lots of it and alot of fun.

Log into "average joe camping" or " Rv campground reviews" on Facebook and you will get a lot of assistance. Very pleased with these camping sites.
If you see a sign saying "Home Baking" drop in. The bake goods are the best you'll find. Also, there is a cheese factory on the 'Island' that is terrific. I took my little Casita across the "Big Bridge" over 10 years ago. I don't remember the campground, but the owner gave some shovels to dig clams in the shallows, but ended picking mussels off the grass. I steamed them in white wine, I bought by the gallon jug. I bought the wine in a Canal Villerie, with only a bright yellow label, marked "White Wine". Not many restaurants on the "Island" but you can buy the best, freshest seafood in any fish mart. Enjoy PEI.
