Somehow, I don't know how, a hole was poked in the back of my D610, between the command dial and the AE L/AF L button. It broke the surface but did not appear to hit the circuit board inside.
The camera worked fine, despite the hole. I took it to
I took the camera to the repair facility on the 8/27 to get a rough estimate (I'm 9 miles from the Nikon repair/offices facility). I couldn't leave it then, because I had a shoot on the first.
This past Monday, the third, I dropped the camera off and expected to have a week, at least without my camera.
I was notified today that my camera was ready for pickup.
This is what was replace/repaired;
Replaced rear cover
Replaced LCD window
Replaced rubber grip
Repaired impact damage (no details)
Adjusted Auto Focus Operation
Adjusted AF Unit
Checked communication
Updated firmware
Cleaned CCD
General Check & clean
Dropped off Monday, picked up Thursday. Not bad!!
A refurb camera, one happy camper.
That IS very fast! How much did they charge you for all that?

$224 plus tax
That sounds reasonable as well.

Three days and $224 seems extremely reasonable considering the nature of the damage and the number of things repaired and replaced. Hope it working to your satisfaction.
