We were fortunate to have a spectacular morning and a very good afternoon on the first day that my wife and I were in Switzerland. Early in the morning we took the train to the Jungfrau Joch (You can google "top of Europe") The train goes through the north face of the Eiger and Mönch mountains in a tunnel. Then it stops at the Jock (saddle)between the Mönch and the Jungfrau. From here you have a spectacular view; but you can also go out onto the glacier and hike around a bit. In the afternoon we hiked the Panoramaweg which gives you wonderful views from the Wetterhorn to the Jungfrau. It was quite spectacular. I'll post more picture from the trip as they get processed. I've been travelling since four am so this is all I got done today. Comments, of course, are always welcome. The most famous group of mountains in this region are the Eiger (ogre) Mönch (monk) and the Jungfrau (virgin) The Mönch is placed between the Eiger and the Jungfrau so that her honor will be kept in tact.

Excellent set!
Thank you. I had trouble with one of the panos I made. I resized it and added it to the set. It includes the Eiger Mönch and Jungfrau in one view.

Brings back memories. My wife is Swiss, born in Bern, the capital. We've traveled extensively in Switzerland and especially the high mountains where you were. Her parents presently live in Spitz, looking out over the Lake of Tune, with views to the Eiger, Monch, and the Jungfrau. One of my favorite places is Zermatt where you can see the Matterhorn. We've hiked down from Gornagrat to Zermatt many times and the beauty of the country never ends. Thank you for your pictures. Looking forward to more.

We drove right past the Thunerrsee. I remember the old road; but now it is an Autobahn. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

I was trying to make them not look like your typical vacation snapshot. With some I might have succeeded. Thanks for taking a look and your positive comment.
Super set eb, the alps never fail to fill you with awe, and you've captured that perfectly,
Geoff

We bought the "VIP" 3 day pass. It included unlimited use of the cog railrays from Interlaken to Grindelwald and also included Wengen, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen, and Kleine Scheidegg. Plus you got a one time only trip to the Jungfraujoch. Amazing. Thanks for taking a look.
