Nikons new 200-500mm lens sells for 1396.95, that sounds like a good price. Anybody know anything about them? That must be with $400. off.

I don't think it's their pro line product. but at constant f5.6 is good for the price. It will pull back the Nikon user from leaning to the Sigma big zoom.

Their website doesn't mention $400 off and there is a shipping charge. Its pre-order only now.
The 80-400 G is $400 off. Good time to buy if you were considering it although the 200-500mm might be a better option if you just want telephoto.

I own the 80-400 lens and it is great BUT this new 200-500 looks interesting since you also can use the 1.4 TC with it

I can't wait for some reviews on this lens to start showing up from both experts and amateurs. I am already saving for something with longer reach, and this may fit nicely with my collection of Nikon glass.

Yeah but with the 1.4 TC it becomes an f8 lens.

Yes but with the newer camera bodies autofocus works I use the 1.4 with my 80-400 at f/8 without a problem
