Any comments on the Nikon Software Suite? It came with a used D5000, and the disc is still sealed in its envelope. I generally don't bother with camera software.

Does it contain NX2? Just downloaded the trial and looks like a very good package. Haven't had time to play with it much.

It's likely that it has Nikon View as well as Nikon Transfer on it. Probably won't have Capture NX2, but I may be wrong.
Nikon View is a very basic photo editor, but will open Nikon's NEF (RAW) files for viewing and editing.
Nikon Transfer is kind of nice for transferring and organizing photos from your card to your computer.

Pounder35, I'm a long time user of NX2 and I am constantly singing its praises. I just wish they'd come out with an upgrade that has a better clone tool.

My problem is I keep trying different programs and never get good at any of them. Been playing with CS5, Elements, NX2, and a few others. I need to decide one a stay with it.

I use NX2 and Photoshop. I've tried on number of occasions to replace NX2 with ACR but I consistently get better raw conversions more easily from NX2 than from ACR. Once I'm done with the raw conversion and tweaking I save the NEF but I also save it as a TIFF. Then I do all my pixel editing in Photoshop.

I got the same disk with my D5000. I installed it, discovered that it's not as nice as Photoshop Elements, and then deleted the programs.

If you already have a good program that you like, stick with it.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. This was an all-or-nothing install, no picking and choosing. I know I can always uninstall, but that usually leaves junk behind.
