playing with camera settings for softball\baseball

Are there any interesting settings that can be used to get interesting pics? Love to get the swing of the bat in motion or blur it when it hits the ball. something different.

It all depends upon your shutter speed. How much blur do you want? Here are 2 examples of that. I took these last week. Both are heavily cropped to get in closer to see the detail. I think these photos represent each extreme. One too fast, and the other too slow. Taking these kind of pictures at a night game is well, a whole new ball game!

Very nice, so hard to catch the batter in just the ride place hitting the ball. lots and lots of shots

Here are a couple of examples of different shots both dependent on your shutter speed along with ISO setting....

1/1000s, f6.0, ISO 400
1/1000s, f6.0, ISO 400...

1/240s, f6.3, ISO 160
1/240s, f6.3, ISO 160...
