After using Windows 8, which I found difficult to navigate, and unnecessary, I will stick with Windows 7 until I see how others like 10.

Jerry, that might have been the best message you could get. Something akin to winning the lottery.

I think I'll wait also. Windows 7 works o.k. for me now. I bought an IMac last year and love it. Plan on switching from Windows laptop to IPad or Macbook this year.

That is happening to a LOT of folks attempting to install W10.

There may be a fix, but you shouldn't have to go through all this to install. I'm posting it just for the fun of it.

I tried three times yesterday with no luck. While configuring my drivers it would stall after 6% completion and do nothing further.

Jerry .... You can't get something for nothing. If Microsoft is giving away Windows for free then that is probably all it is worth. I am going to stay with my Windows 7.

I checked, and I have the system reserved partition they mentioned in the first message.

Then I got the message below. "We're not sure what happened..." :D

Are you relying on Windows Update for this? There is a tool that you can download that will give you the option of upgrading to Windows 10 or create an install disk.

I've already downloaded it and planned to use it to create an install disk for a clean install later.

When I clicked on the icon on the right side of the Task Bar the other day, it said I would be notified when the upgrade was installed. It did an update for Win8.1 this morning, so I don't know what the problem is with Win10. Apparently, they don't know, either.

Well what do you expect. It's kind of like when Johnny Cash started building his Cadillac in 1949 "One piece at a time". He had to drill some extra holes to make it work. You must have a drill Jerry. Try drilling some holes in your computer.

:D :D

Yes, and it's cordless, so I won't get a shock when I drill into the computer. Maybe it just needs more ventilation holes.
