During the heat of the day, the wild turkeys came back from the swamp and graced me with their presence for about 50 captures. Here is the mom and she still had all of her brood; she was not the least afraid of me and decided stretch to show her boredom or because she just needed to, but I captured her with her wings spread and then decided to dress her up a bit in abstract. I wanted to make sure that my viewers could tell what the subject was as that seems to be of paramount interest to quite a few of my UHH friends. So here she is in all her colorful glory. Please try the download.

You have done a wonderful job with this and I don't at least for me think the subject is too far gone to need explanation. The colors are well chosen for this display jwt.

Opinions is about all I can offer as I am still new to all of this and rarely can offer knowledgeable assistance.

Excellent treatment of this one, Jim. Impressive.

I do see videos of wild turkeys chasing cops up onto the roofs of their patrol cars, but the turkeys here aren't at all aggressive, and allow me within two or three feet of them, especially when I'm tossing sunflowers seeds for them.

Thank you Randy, I'm happy you liked this one. I saw a documentary recently in which a naturalist became the surrogate parent of a flock of turkeys in North Florida and lived with and filmed them for over a year. The final separation from him and his flock came as a result of one of the Toms attacking him and instilling some serious injury to the naturalist. Again, we must keep in mind they are wild animals and can be very dangerous. It actually bothers me that these turkeys are not afraid of me as that can easily bring about their demise especially around thanksgiving.

From taking the shot to working with it you have achieved very, very good "art". It is one I don't want to "let go" but would like to continue studying, enjoying. Wouldn't a slide show be wonderful, with music, of all the amazing photos that have surfaced in Hedge Hog?! Sandy

Hi CSand; thanks so much for the visit and the very nice comment. Definitely appreciate it and I think a slide show or short movie showing the process from shot to finished art would be very interesting. Thanks again! :-D :-D

Jim, Actually I meant a slide show including your photo but others as well that were exceptional. But I agree too that it would be interesting to see the original, know what techniques were used, and the finished product. A slide show would be a feast for the eyes for sure. Sandy

Ah got it, sorry for my misread. I agree with you on this better understanding as well. Now who could put that together?
