It has nothing to do with humble. It's a simple matter of access and as a result having more pictures.

Denver is not a photographer, he is a biologist with a camera (or assistants with a camera). But rest assured he has better Snowy Owl pictures than anyone. Not "better" as judged by photographers but as judged by people who have real experience with Snowy Owls on a lifelong basis.

Barrow is an English name given to an Inupiat Eskimo village known as Ukpeagvik, which means the place we hunt Snowy Owls. Artist's representations of Snowy Owls are ubiquitous here, and every school child has already seen more owls and more owl art that you ever will.

My personal collection of Snowy Owl pictures is simply larger than any except that of Denver Holt. It's just a matter of access, something we have and others don't. Denver utilizes that access much better than I do.
