Does anyone have a good recommendation for a slingbag for a nikon D200 with a nikon 80-200 f2.8 lens?

for nature photography i have enjoyed the lowprow slingshot 202 aw. Holds a d7200 w/70-300 attached and two other lenses with no problem. the rain hood comes in handy when an unexpected shower pops up. There is a size larger and smaller in the series http://www.lowepro.com/slingshot.

Lowepro makes excellent bags. They offer different sizes, depending on your needs. BTW, nice avatar... looks familiar!

Thanks for the reply. I've seen the 302 and the size seems about right. I've got a small lowepro which I seem to have outgrown, but which has given good service. The lowepro sling seems like a good choice.

Adorama sells a slingbag under the Adorama name. Love mine. Designed by a big time NYC photographer. Worth your while to check it out. Plenty of room for one cam. with a big lens, one more lens. lots of other places for most everything else you might need.

Get a back pack, I have a sling bag and it is so uncomfortable to drag around I never use it anymore. A back pack is way more comfortable.

Backpack is certainly more comfortable for carrying gear, but in order to remove and replace gear for shooting, you must take the backpack off. The whole idea of the slingbag is to allow the photographer to access the equipment with the bag in place.

I own every conceivable type of camera bag and there is a time for each. If I need to move a lot of gear and am not planning to shoot with it, I always reach for the backpack. If I grab a body and a couple of lenses for a day shooting, I always reach for the slingbag.

And, I here is one other major drawback to using a backpack. It is quite easy to fall victim to theft with a backpack. Try carrying your gear in a backpack in Barcelona for example and see what you have in there when you return to your hotel in the evening.

It is too bad that Madrid and Barcelona have both become hotbeds for stolen camera gear. I have had friends ripped off by the Middle-Eastern immigrants that are moving to Spain. I think a sling bag might be safer.

I would substitute stolen EVERYTHING" for "camera gear"

Barca is the only city I have ever visited where locals wear thier backpacks on their chests instead of on their backs. Talking about all backpacks - not just camera packs
