I've been to the one in Chicago several times. Good store! When they don't have something I'm interested in, they order it from the Cleveland store and have it there the next day. They have good expertise. I would recommend them.
I got my first prosessing equipment there in 1959, they carried just about everything back then. I checked the web last month, they are still in operation. give them a call and see if they can meet your needs. they wouldn't still be in business if they weren't doing the job.

I'll check them out.I just moved to Hermitage from Pittsburgh , Pa & there doesn't seem to be anything in the greater Youngstown--Sharon area.

I have used them for many years. Cameras, lenses, and accessories. Always received great products, service, and top-notch advice. I usually shop their Solon, Ohio store. Take the route 422 to Solon (route 91). The store is about a half mile away in the shopping center at 91 & 43.
Their downtown Cleveland store is large and well stocked with EVERYTHING. Be careful if you go to the Cleveland store - some nearby areas are rather dangerous. Stick to the freeways (the store is close to exits) and you should be okay.
Have fun and be careful.

I do 95% of my photo business with Dodd in Beavercreek (Dayton) Ohio. Very satisfied, all of their staff are experienced photographers and go out of their way to help long after the purchase. I consider them a huge asset.

Is Pete's PhotoWorld still in Cincinnati? They used to be big supporters of WEBN's big show.

talk to Erv he get alot from Dodd
Ditto for the store in Cincinnati. But sometimes they have to order things for you, don't have them in stock. Particularly lenses.
Have dealt with them for years and find them service focused.
They have a store on Polaris Parkway just north of Columbus, Ohio

Their big store is in Cleveland. And they have one down in Akron that is pretty small. But I don't like driving to Cleveland so I have them send it to the Akron store to pick up. You can always find better prices on line. But I like to keep the camera stores going around town here. They are slowly disappearing. I also like to touch and feel.:):) And they let me play with the lenses I want to buy.:)

I have conducted business with their stores in the greater dayton area and the huge store in cincinnati since 2010. I'm very pleased with the service and prices. I was shocked (pleasantly)at the trade in value they gave me for my canon gear when I switched to sony. Not to get off topic and I know alot of members here are very pleased with a couple of the big email order stores, but for me there is nothing like going to a local candy (camera) store and touching/trying out before i buy. Dodd's prices are very reasonable. And on the customer service side I had an issue this past year where one of their employees had started a editing project for me and before he finished it had left the company. Somehow everything of mine was missplaced. I received several calls from a bigwig at the corp location in cleveland and he worked with me non stop until my issue was resolved. Amy at the beavercreek location has worked with me since day one and knows my interests, you only get this at a local brick and mortal store. So to answer the question, "great store".
Thanks to all for the help !
