Here's some pic's of the aircraft I worked on for 9 years, flew all over the place with it. It's a Convair 880 that we modified to an air refueling tanker for the navy. It's now been recycled back into beer cans. I didn't take these, I was on the a/c. The first picture is before we got it painted

UC - 880 sitting on ground at Pax Piver
Cool photos. Not many people see those types of photos.
Veru cool... :)
A friend of mine was a boom operator on a tanker in USAF.
He had some awesome photos from his tour, 1960-1964.
Thanks for the pics!
I had a picture of F-16, taken from a KC-135 by the boomer... The pilot had a sign: "Shit happens"....
Great Photo's, what a beautiful plane. I found a crashed A4 a few years back in a very remote part of Oregon. I wondered what they look like, now I know.
neat pics! i guess the navy still flies the old TA-4J's? the A-4 itself has been retired for years...
Back in my day they used the A3B Skywarrior to refuel off the carriers.
Great Shots
the reel system in the 880, I removed from an A-3
Great shots I was in the USAF and worked as a jet mech on KC135 refuelers and B-52 back when there was a SAC in Loring AFB up state Maine.
