Great shot, but what really caught my eye was that I'd never seen a jockey riding with such long stirrups as is the case with the #1 horse.

I think I know that jockey! Haven't seen him in years, so I could be wrong.
I'f you'll look closely, it's not his stirrup that's down so low, it's only his foot. Sometimes they don't put their feet into the stirrups until they're ready to move the horse out a bit.

Right you are. I hadn't done the download and without my glasses, I miss a lot. I was wondering if he was an English jockey who did steeplechases with long stirrups when I first saw the picture.
