Please let me explain first. Thank You.

I will be starting a 6 week project that is for 1 day a week and 2-3 hours each. It is for the FD and I know that there is a bunch of people here that are sick of seeing those kind of photos. They will be of the newest FD Citizen's Academy where they pick a group of 12 people from the community and put them through this mostly hands-on crash course of the fire/ems services. The first night is all orientation and the other nights are almost if not all hands-on. I will be taking a lot of photos during the course of those 6 weeks showing what is going on in the events.

The question then for everyone is:

Should I post some of them here for everyone to see or should I not and just post other photos?

I'd say that's entirely up to you.

You are considerate for asking, but I think that you should post what you want to post. Some people will be interested some not. I strongly suggest that you should NOT put a knife to anyones throat, and make them view.

Post only those that you have question relative to quality and such. The other are pretty much worthless at the moment.

When the project is done, THEN post what you have achieved, by all means.

Thanks for the input. This is why I was putting the question out since I will be doing a more indept report of the project on a different site.

post your passion. i for one would love to see them. i have heard of citizen police academy before (our sherrif runs one) but never a fire dept. your posting of fire photos has not come anywhere near overdone. that title belongs to " heres a shot of a bee in...substitute the name of any flower for the dots) those who don't like your photos its them Not you!! your photos are the sweet and sour chicken on the uhh buffet. flower shots are the egg rolls, car shots are the won ton soup. different tastes for different folks. I would love to do what you do.

Everyone is right. Listen to yourself and post those that you feel you want input and then after you are done, the story. Some want to see them and some don't; remember you cannot please everyone. My sister and brother in-law would love to see them (they are volunteer firefighters in Alaska); me maybe some but not all.

Thank you everyone for your views on this. I see some have said to not post a lot. I would not be posting every photo but just some (no more than say 16) from each week as that way I would be posting a few photos of each part of the event to highlight what goes on since this would be easier than posting hundreds of photos which is how many I took last year. Thanks Again.

Post whatever you think is right. I suggest, however, that, before you start, you explain that the pictures will be publicly displayed and, EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO, try to get everyone to sign a photo release.

Also, if you are taking them for a FD, either assign them the copyrights or have them acknowledge in writing that they are aware and agree that you own all copyrights.

I do take them for the fd as their official photographer and everyone is told about it when I show up. I will be getting releases this year so that won't be an issue either.
