Original Capture vs Extreme Crop

I often shoot close to, or at Minimal Focusing Distance (MFD), which captures 1:1 magnification (life-size). Here is a photo of a 1.5-mm Black Aphid nymph as shot, and final cropped image to reveal detail.

Hand-held Nikon D5000 with Nikkor 105G macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/22, open shade with Nikkor SB-600 speedlight with O-Flash 3/4-circle Fresnel prism.

those aphids are very small.its hard to get a good pic.tom

I did a few using a macro lens plus a magnifying lens. Came out alright.
