Yesterday I took these 3 photos at the 13th Annual VW Car Show in Melbourne, Florida. I used the HDR technique to take and process these photos. I used my Nikon D300S on a tripod and used a wide angle to take these images. I would appreciate your comments. To see more of them, click on this link http://bit.ly/rrtKFD.

I take a lot of chrome pictures too, looks good as the entire car is the subject for most of your series.
I always shoot a lot of close chrome and really watch
the reflection more than anything else.(try to keep me out)
With the correct point of view this works for me.
Good work here.

Good pics, I really liked the (red?) van. It's been around for a while & you can tell, I can only imagine the stories that it could tell if it were able to do so. I appreciate things of a simpler time, sometimes we forget to stop and see how far we have come. Yes, including myself... I've seen many changes as the years have passed me by, not as much as some and more than some others. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome pictures of the autos!!! I am surprised in the second pic that the owners of that car hadn't wiped off the grass off the tires. Can you remove that from the picture? Just wondering....

Doe, Thank for you comments about my photos. I probably could get rid of the grass on the tires using Photoshop, but it would take me take me about an hour to do it. If somebody is willing to buy it from me then I would consider removing it. 

You said you used an ultra-wide lens, could you tell me just how close you were to the car?

You also said you used HDR technique, I am not familiar with it, but am planning on reading up on it. It is something I would like to try someday when I get better at the editing programs. So how did the HDR change the pictures?

I don't see where I am able to post a picture here but I would like you to look at some pictures I took recently and let me know if that ultra-wide lens is something I could use to take pictures like I do. So please check for my post. Thank You.....

Doe,

I was typically 4-5 feet or less when I took these photographs of the cars.

Click on this link for info about HDR. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-tutorial/ HDR provides more tonal range in deep shadow areas and near blow out highlights of a photo. it gives more details in your photos. Some people like to use it to add an artistic value their photos. If you click on this link you can view to some of my before and after HDR photos. http://www.dubinphotography.net/Events/Camera-Club-of-Brevard/Titusville-Car-Show-Nov-6-2010/14564775_CH8XbG#1082605284_XNMCP

If you click on "Quote Reply" you can upload 3 photos to this forum.

I hope this helps, Arnold

I like the first 2 images best , even with the dirty tires. The 3rd one looks a bit crowded due to the grassy background; perhaps a lower perspective would isolate the engine and muffler a bit more.
J like to share a few wide angle( 18mm) shots I took recently at a local car show. Feel free to dissect them.
