the lens tissues have a very strong heady smell when you open the sealed pack. I have heard that some young ppl breath in that smell to get some sort of drug high. has anyone else heard that ??

It is just alcohol don't know that it would get you high by smelling

At Walmart you never now where they put things. One time my daughter was loking for a book to keep information in and she found it in the Auto Dept. not in the stationary Dept.

Anyone? I bought a box of Ziess a while back (made in USA)
I just bought another box (Made in CHINA)
I purchased Zeiss wipes at SAMS Club. Has anyone else looked to see where there are made? I am assuming they are the same quality

I just looked at the last box of 100 that I got from B&H and it says Made in China on it just like the Walmart box of 50. And the B&H box is well over a year old.

On the good tips here for lens cleaning tissues I went to Wally World. I don't feel like I got what you good folk here were talking about. In the optical dept. there were 21 individully sealed wipes in a box of 21 for ~$4. At the jewelry dept. was one reseal able package of 20 pre-moistened anti-static & fog tissues for $1. All stated they good for lenses. In my heart, I just don’t think either of these are what you folk are referring to. Can someone be a bit more explicit for what I need to look for? Thanks
On the good tips here for lens cleaning tissues I ... (show quote)

I have used Kimwipes forever. Just a little breath on the lens. I never use pre moistened.
Kimwipes might be hard to find. I use to buy them in bulk when I had my camera repair business. I believe you can find them at Fargo Enterprises/Micro tools.

Just remember that photo lens cleaning tissues (like the Zeiss) are best, in part, because they are designed not to affect the lens coating.

I still prefer a micro-fiber cloth and my breath - if the blower or brush fails.

On the other hand, maybe someone knows the chemical contents of the average person's breath and knows a reason it shouldn't be used? Is it affected by garlic and onions?

My daughter in law is Japanese, she taught me the virtues of microfiber cloths, them suckers clean anything and tough spots just wet them with water.... amazing.

Zeiss makes two kinds one made in china, check your box and one made in Germany, The one for china is not the same formula,
Always read your label to where it comes from

And of course you can verify this claim, right? Or is it just unsubstantiated opinion?

Do you have any proof of this or just speculation most all cleaning fluids are the same just distilled water and alcohol
