Here are 8 shots taken a few weeks back of Madison Bumgarner on the mound. I sat behind the plate on the second level and had to keep the camera up a little bit to avoid having the backstop show up in the shots. It was a bit of a challenge but found a few that came out I think.
All of the shots were taken with my Canon 7DII with the Tamron 150-600 at 600 mm, 1/8000 shutter at 2000 iso.

Very impressive indeed, Chris! Love the one where the baseball has left his hand and is visible.

I think that is a rosin bag behind him.

which one is that? Great sequence
Thank you globetrekker. My ISO was higher than I like, but I was trying to slow the ball with a high shutter speed. There is a reason those $15,000 lenses are used by the pro's. Wow, that would be cool!
It's a baseball weekend with the A's. Just back from today's game and happy of course.
Thank you for commenting.

Thank you Wrangler, you're correct, the rosin bag is certainly there. Shot #6 has the ball visible too. Just back from another game today...and happy to report Madison hit yet another home run. This guy is so cool! Who can imagine pitchers that can hit home runs fairly regularly. Let's make him the DH! LOL!

Hi boberic, please see the sixth shot by his hip. Hard to see, I agree. I have others that I may post later but with different comments. I have observed the skin on pitchers arms deformed quite strangely when shooting at high shutter speed as the ball is released. The intensity is amazing.

Madison is one of my former middle school students from years ago. And he graduated from South Caldwell High School, which we feed into. Just an humble ol' Caldwell County native that is doing fabulous. Caldwell County has quite a few famous baseball legends...one of whom is Rube Walker, kin to me via my grandma Ruth Jarvis. And he is kin to my husband via his aunt...Rube and Jack's aunt's husand, Les, were brothers....and people think this county has little to nothing to offer....but it does....wouldn't call any place else home.
These really are good....how fortunte you were to be able to get them.
Terrific sequence, Chris! Excellent shots! Very well done!
I see it now on his left side. Great sequence. How many shots per second?
Nice story. Very interesting.
