I was looking on ebay at a c type steadycam

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/121160266372?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and I was wondering how good it would be or not so I was looking for reviews.

when I found this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDi1o8GUAss

The making and use of this steady cam has to be seen to be believed but it is basically the guts from 2 old hard drives.

I don't know if I could make one or not, but the video is worth watching :)

Still undecided about the ebay item.

The project does seem to work, and i am not short of dead hard drives :)
The idea's are sound enough but i think you would be engineering your own solution when it came to building one.

essentially you need rotation in x y and z axis + gravity

Hi blackest,
Seems like an awkward angle to hold your wrist at, and it would interfere with the screen and controls. I'm not likely to be filming video in a crowd, so for me the tripod , or maybe even a monopod, would be a better solution.

Thanks bob, I appreciate the insight. I can Always find something else to spend my money on. Just picked up an A3+ epson photo 1290 (eu version of the 1280) only paid 15 euro for it, took it round to a fella who does ink refilling who reset everything and loaded some black ink for free. It did have a couple of issues two phosphor bronze bearings the print head run on had come adrift from the head giving a fatal error.

couple of spots of super glue and they are in the right place and the printers working fine :)
