Mackinac Bridge, once the longest suspension bridge in the world, currently the 5th longest.

I took a solitary road trip this past Sunday, needing to get out of the house, away from my workaholic husband. It was such a gorgeous day, sunny, hot and breezy. I drove up to Petoskey, then north through what we call the Tunnel of Trees, which is spectacular in the fall, then to Mackinaw City; although I felt extremely alone at times, the beauty of our Northern Michigan was well worth the trip. I'll post more pics later on.

Canon 70D, Canon EF 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 lens.

Very nice photos. You captured the bridge very well. I love getting out by myself, with just my cameras, quite a lot.

I understand that Yoopers live over that bridge and trolls live under it. That was told to me by a friend is lives in the U.P.

Thank you.

Yes, we hear that a lot, and if I'm a troll, I'm a PROUD troll. Michigan, both Upper and Lower, is one heck of a beautiful state. I've lived here all my life and there are still many places I've yet to visit!

We were up there a few weeks back for our first visit and wow, what a beautiful area. I posted a night shot of the bridge taken in the parking lot of our hotel.
