As we get older, time seems to fly by. One reason could be that as we age, each year is a smaller percentage of our total number of years.

On the topic of getting older- I don't mind advancing years but I wish I still had a 25year old body. not for any other reason but the following. I still had the factory installed parts, not those made of metal, and most of all , nothing hurt. No one ever warned me that getting older hurts.

Although I was born in 1944, I think of myself as being 37. That seems to work for me.

Time goes faster when you're over the hill.

That's correct. Your mom warned you about this.

I just remember that when I was a kid, the summer used the last forever and weekends felt like entire weeks.

I've always told my kids that your life seems so long until you reach 21. After that, you lose track of the days so quickly that it seems that you are aging a decade every year.

Right. It seems like it was just Memorial Day, and now we're heading into August and Labor Day. Each day goes faster, too. We live in a magical time. :D

But it's bad magic....

I blame the time distortion for the fact that I am 49 years old, but I still act like a kid. It's like my body is aging faster than my mind--Adam Sandler syndrome....

It's because we've seen and done everything already, so doing it over makes it seem less new, and our mind spends less time on it.

That just took me a whole minute to type, but it seemed like 5 seconds.

Now, breakfast every 15 minutes, every other day is Friday, and Christmas is every other month.

Another amazing phenomenon of time speeding up is bringing the distant past seemingly closer to the present. Think about it.

Events, particularly those of historical significance, like the Civil War seemed like they happened eons ago when I learned about them in grade school. Now, as an adult, I get a sense of history as being much closer in time to my own birth than ever previously thought.

In today's time, a ten year old kid would need to imagine going back in time a total of ten lifetimes to touch Abraham Lincoln. A 75 year old adult would only need two lifetime spans to achieve the same feat. The past grows closer as it ages further away. Interesting.

Pet math. As children that lecture on how valuable life is that we got after that first pet died. Now the thought occurs that this new pet just might mourn you.

Life is just like a roll of toilet paper - It always goes faster at the end. :)
