Greetings all, Just came on board and wanted to share some photos I took of the Milky Way from the Columbia Basin area of Washington state over the weekend. While not the epic foregrounds represented in many photos that are shared, an abandoned farmhouse and tree still provide a bit of interest to the photographs. We are fortunate in this desert area of the state to have lots of clear starry nights and are relative light debris free within 30 minutes of home.
All photos are in jpeg format with no post alterations. I've taken in RAW too, but don't have the computer system in place to process the RAW files yet.
Very good Goldie, and welcome aboard.
What were your exposure settings? Pictures are great.

These are great. Welcome aboard, however if you choose to check (store original) to the right of the 'choose file' button when you post we can make them bigger to see. DO NOT 'preview' or they will be lost and won't post.

Great images! Welcome to the forum! I spent a few years in Moses Lake many moons ago. I loved the basin sunshine :)

Beautiful subject Goldie, welcome to UHH. :)
Thanks for comments.
Photos where taken with 2 different lens--Canon EF L 16-35mm zoom, set at 16mm and F/2.8, ISO 6400 and a Canon EF L 14mm set at F/3.2 and ISO 6400. I shot anywhere from 6 seconds up to 30 seconds with either lens.
OK, I re-attached photos so you can download them. Sorry about that, learning curve is straight up. LOL
Super-enjoyable images, Goldie. Welcome to the site from a neighbor in hot Yakima :)
Regarding "store original" - Photo Gallery rules and guidelines actually discourage doing that, but since every single day I see folks request that it be done, I think it's time for a rules update :)
I , for one would like to thank you for the effort in posting with the download. They are wonderful photographs and at least in this case we would have missed the shooting stars that were not readily apparent without it. You just convinced me that the ef 16-35 will be my next lens. Decision made! TY
